The Upper Bay Charter Captains Association (UBCCA) is an organization whose members hold both United States Coast Guard captain license and a Maryland Fishing Guide license. The Association is dedicated to the promotion of the Upper Chesapeake Bay. Our primary focus is to offer world class Striped Bass fishing plus great opportunities for Black Drum, Bluefish, Croaker, Flounder, Perch, Spanish Mackerel, Spot, Trout, and others. Boats of all sizes are available also for cruising and sightseeing to many upper Chesapeake locations including Baltimore's Inner Harbor, Annapolis, Rock Hall, Kent Island, Deale and many other areas throughout the Bay region.

Find A Charter Captain

The charter boats listed in the following areas will provide a great day of fishing, not only for Striped Bass/Rockfish, but also for Black Drum, Bluefish, Croaker, Flounder, Trout, Spot, Perch, Spanish Mackerel, Weakfish and many other species of fish and styles of fishing.

Upper Bay: Baltimore-Chesapeake Bay Bridge

North of the Chesapeake Bay Bridge to the upper reaches of the Chesapeake, including the Magothy River, Bodkin River, Middle River, Back River, Patapsco River, and their adjoining creeks. Boats of all sizes are available also for cruising and sightseeing to many upper Chesapeake locations, including Baltimore's Inner Harbor. Route 40 and I-95 prove was access to the fishing boats in this area. Wilmington, DE and Harrisburg, PA are just a little more than an hour away.


Mid-Bay

These captains are located in southern Anne Arundel county from Annapolis to Deale, Maryland. The area is easily accessed from routes 2, 4, 258, and 301. Washington and Virginia are less than an hour away.


Annapolis North and South

Located on the Chesapeake Bay, between the Severn and the South Rivers, the capitol of Maryland, Annapolis, offers many sport fishing charter boats. The area is easily accessed from interstates 95 or 97 and routes 2,3, 50, and 301. Baltimore and Washington are only 45 minutes away.








Eastern Shore

This area covers Maryland's eastern shore from the Chester River to the Eastern Bay/Kent Island areas, with the majority of the charter fishing boats located in either Rock Hall or Kent Island. Routes 13, 50, and 301 provide easy access to these charter captains docks. Wilmington, Delaware is only 45 minutes away from Rock Hall, while Baltimore or Washington are only an hour from Kent Island.
